The One Step LH Urine Ovulation Test is fast and easy to use. It is a qualitative test that predicts when there is a LH (Luteinizing Hormone) surge and in turn when you are likely to ovulate. Taking an ovulation test is very important especially for women trying to conceive Trying out for a baby immediately after the test kit tests positive increases one’s chance of conceiving.
Did you know that a woman can have regular periods and still not be ovulating?
This is a condition called ANOVULATION. The only way for one to know if they are ovulating is to
take an Ovulation Test
WHEN TO BEGIN TESTING
First, you must determine the length of your menstrual cycle. This is the number of days from the first day of your menstrual bleeding to the day before your next bleeding begins. Please refer to the chart to determine when you should start testing. If your cycle is shorter than 21 days or longer than 28 days or longer than 38 days, consult your doctor. Your Cycle Length Day of cycle to take test
21 days 6-8
22 days 7-9
23 days 8-10
24 days 9-11
25 days 10-12
26 days 11-13
27 days 12-14
28 days 13-15
29 days 14-16
30 days 15-17
31 days 18-20
If you do not know the length of your cycle, you may begin the test 11 days after your first period since the average cycle is 28 days. 1 test each day over a 5-day period, or until the LH surge has been detected.
URINE COLLECTION
Do not use first morning urine samples as LH is synthesized in your body early in the morning. It will not show up in your urine until later in the day. The best time to collect your urine is between 10am and 8pm.
Collect urine at about the same time each day. Reduce liquid intakes about 2 hours before collecting your urine as a diluted urine sample can prevent the test from detecting the LH surge.
TEST PROCEDURE
Allow the sealed LH test pouch, urine sample and control solution to reach room temperature
(18-30°C).
Remove the LH test strip from the sealed pouch.
Immerse the strip into the urine with the arrow end pointing towards the urine. Do not immerse
past the MAX (marker line). Take the strip out after 5 seconds and lay the strip flat on a clean,
dry, non-absorbent surface (such as the mouth of the urine container).
Wait for colored bands to appear. Depending on the concentration of the LH in the test
specimen, positive results may be observed in as little as 40 seconds. However, to confirm
negative results, the complete reaction time of 10 minutes is required. Do not read the results
after more than 30 minutes
INTERPRETATION OF RESULTS
→ Negative: Only one-color band appears on the control region, or the test band appears but is
lighter than the control band. This means there is no LH surge.
→ Positive: If two color bands are visible and the test band is equal to or darker than the control
band, one will probably ovulate in the next 24-48 hours. If trying to get pregnant, the best time
to have intercourse is after 24 hours but before 48 hours.
→ Invalid: No visible band at all. Repeat with new kit.
How long after a positive ovulation test Are You Fertile?
Eggs are only viable for about 24 hours after they’re released (ovulation).
If combined with the 36 hours between a positive ovulation test and ovulation, the fertile period
comes down to less than 60 hours
Timing is key and this is where the Ovulation Kits comes in
